Natural Peek Plastic
PEEK offers the best balance of properties of all thermoplastic materials. PEEK-based products offer outstanding mechanical properties, chemical resistance and thermal performance. PEEK can withstand long term continuous service temperatures of 250°C, as well as exposure to hot water or steam with low moisture absorption.
Unfilled PEEK offers inherently good wear resistance, and modified grades are available for enhanced friction and wear properties. PEEK materials are inherently flame resistant and have low smoke emission. At approximately 30 times the cost of nylon, PEEK is one of the more costly plastic materials available, but it can often be used as a substitute to higher priced polyimide products such as Torlon®, offering improved machinability, dimensional stability and similar physical properties through much of its useful temperature range.
